Fairmount Fire Company was established in 1889. Today the fire company is located at Vine Street and Susquehanna Avenue. The fire company continues to be manned by more than 60 volunteers which use seven pieces of equipment including:
One 108-foot ladder
One Squirt with 1,500 gallons per minute pump
Two Engines
One Rescue Engine with a 1,500 gallons per minute pump
One personnel carrier
One utility truck.
Fundraising Activities
As part of the fund raising activities for the fire company, the fire company hosts their annual Under the Lights Car Show in June. Fairmount Fire Company continues to maintain its excellent standards in fire fighting.
